I have been a working journalist based in Ireland since 1978, having worked in print, broadcasting and online as well as public relations and lecturing in journalism. I have co-written books on media and politics. I have also been a weekly newspaper editor. My doctorate is in journalism ethics.
Richard started his career in journalism in 2017 at EssexLive where he was a reporter and then News Editor. During his time at EssexLive, he was shortlisted for Young Journalist of the Year and Digital Live News Reporter of the Year at the Regional Press Awards for his coverage of the murder of John Pordage.
In 2019, Richard became Courts Editor for MyLondon before taking the helm at SurreyLive and HampshireLive as Acting Editor in January 2020 covering maternity leave. In January 2021, he became Editor of BedfordshireLive, CambridgeshireLive, EssexLive, HertsLive and PeterboroughLive. The following year, Richard was appointed Regional Editor for Lancashire and Greater Manchester and oversaw five titles; The Bolton News, Lancashire Telegraph, The Oldham Times, Bury Times and The Messenger.
In January 2023, he took on an expanded role as Regional Editor North West, overseeing 13 titles across Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Merseyside.
Sanina is a former journalist who's been working in PR, comms and copywriting for more than 20 years. Sanina spent seven years working in journalism before joining the world of local authority corporate communications. More than seven years later, she left public sector comms to work as a PR Manager for some of the biggest and best agencies in the Midlands.
She also spent several years delivering content strategy and inbound marketing campaigns for one of the largest HubSpot Diamond marketing agency partners in the UK.
Fast forward to the here and now, and Sanina has been providing individuals, businesses and agencies with dedicated content, PR and awards support for the last eight years. Passionate about helping the next generation of talent, Sanina is a professional mentor for Birmingham City University and the Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce.
A journalist and educator, Kathleen is group editor for Think, named content marketing agency of the year at the PPA Awards 2024. She edits award-winning membership magazines the RPS Journal for the Royal Photographic Society and Botanics for the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, as well as digital content.
Her industry roles have included group weekend features editor at the Herald and Times, and editor of The Herald Magazine, The Sunday Herald Magazine and The List. Kathleen has lectured in journalism at Edinburgh Napier University and Glasgow Clyde College.
More recently, she has taught on the NCTJ Diploma in Journalism, an industry-standard course for graduates. She has enjoyed being a selector for the Scottish Press Awards and Royal Television Society Scotland Awards. She is still learning.
Evelyn is the Deputy Production Editor for the Guardian's Editions app. Her role involves curating daily news, sub-editing articles and most importantly, making sure that the digital subscribers are satisfied with the content and layout of the final product.
Prior to joining the Guardian in 2017, she worked as a freelance food and culture writer for various online magazines and platforms. While she was an undergraduate student, she founded Euron magazine, a digital magazine for Europeans in London. She not only wrote articles about Slovaks and Czechs in London, but she also managed a small team of journalists, who regularly contributed with their articles.
Evelyn also enjoys the world of academia, and as a fresh holder of a PhD, she is an expert in youth and their relationship with social media and media literacy. She is also journalism and media lecturer at the University of West London and Middlesex University London.
Venetia Rainey is an experienced radio and print journalist and editor who has worked across the Middle East and Europe. Since joining The Telegraph in 2020, she has been its Weekend Foreign Editor.
She recently moved to the audio team to help launch the paper's flagship new news podcast The Daily T as their planning editor.
Kate is an award winning sports journalist and trailblazer working for the Telegraph. She joined Telegraph Media Group in 2017 as a Rugby Reporter and has gone on to cover across sports and now holds the title Sports Features Writer and Interviewer. Kate was for many years the only woman covering men's rugby for a UK national newspaper including at the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
Kate played an integral role in the development of Telegraph Women's Sport in the 18 months prior to the 2019 launch pioneering the publication's coverage of areas such as female athlete health before a dedicated team of women's sport staff was hired but continues to cover women's and men's sport. She has interviewed everyone from Monica Seles to Niall Horan! She was the winner of AIPS (International Sports Journalists) Column of the Year in 2022 for her agenda setting column on sexism she experienced as a sports journalist.
She has been shortlisted five times in the British Sports Journalism Awards since joining the Telegraph, twice winning bronze awards in the Rugby Journalist category. Prior to joining the Telegraph and moving to London , Kate worked freelance based in her native Dublin for six years and in that time she co-authored the book Six Nations, Two Stories. She has multiple global sporting events including three men's Rugby World Cups, Wimbledon Championships and The Open as well as travelling from Barcelona to San Diego to Cape Town for interviews.
Dan is a multi-award winning journalist who specialises in written and multimedia content distribution. He started his career 15 years ago in regional newspapers and has progressed through the industry to lead on digital distribution strategy at the UK's biggest news provider – Reach PLC.
